2009 Annual Convention Scenes

Adviser of the Year

The 2009 Adviser of the Year is Jeannie Miller of the Brush Creek Black Bears, Brush Creek Elementary School in Marshall. Mrs. Miller has been working with the Tar Heel Junior Historian Association for eighteen years. Even though they must travel over five hundred miles round-trip, her clubs always make it a priority to attend the THJHA Annual Convention in Raleigh, and they often take home top honors in many of the Annual Contests. Mrs. Miller holds certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and is working on her master’s degree from Western Carolina University. In recognition of the dedication that she shows to her students and to her state, the Tar Heel Junior Historian Association proudly names her 2009 Adviser of the Year.
