Tar Heel Junior Historian Association

Home / Tar Heel Junior Historian Association / Who Can Form a THJHA Club?

If you are an adult or student interested in learning more about the Tar Heel Junior Historian Association, ask your school's media coordinator for the video Tar Heel Junior Historians. Copies have been provided to media centers in public schools across the state and to some private schools.

If you are an adult, consider starting a Tar Heel Junior Historian Association club if you
  • are affiliated with a public or private school
  • are a member of a local historical society
  • lead a youth group such as Girl or Boy Scouts or 4-H
  • enjoy learning about history
  • have experience leading young people
Any interested group may organize a junior historian club by applying to the association office for membership. The only requirement for forming a club is that the group have at least one adult adviser.

Clubs can be any size, from one student and one adviser to hundreds of students and several advisers. However, THJHA limits magazine subscriptions to 120 per club. Clubs must renew their memberships every year in July.
