First Fridays at the Museum: Asbury Short Film Concert

Friday, March 3, 5-9 p.m.

New York's longest-running exhibition of award-winning short films, Asbury Shorts USA, will stop in North Carolina for the first time ever this March! The 35th Asbury Short Film Concert features shorts selected from major U.S. and international film festivals.

Join us at the North Carolina Museum of History for this First Friday event: tour exhibits, shop at the gift shop, purchase concessions—including craft beer from Oak & Dagger— beginning at 5 p.m., enjoy live music with Castle Wild starting at 6:30 p.m. and then enjoy the films that screen at 7:30 p.m. Steven Neilson, producer of “Oh Crappy Day,” will serve as guest host of the film concert.

Longleaf Film Festival and Dagtype Films are presenting this curated film “concert,” an eclectic collection of comedy, drama and animation that combines award-winning shorts from the past with new honorees. Jason Reitman, the Academy Award-nominated director, (“Juno,” “Up in the Air", "Thank You forSmoking"), calls the Asbury Short Film Concerts “the best short-film show I’ve ever seen.”

Tickets cost $15 to enter the short film concert.
