As we wrap up the first installment of NCMOH’s Plott Hound Literary Circle, we hope you’ll join us for a special virtual book talk. Award-winning author Dolen Perkins-Valdez will be discussing her critically acclaimed novel Happy Land. Attendees will be invited to submit questions in advance, so be sure to watch for upcoming opportunities to participate!

Dolen Perkins-Valdez is the New York Times bestselling author of Take My Hand (2022). Her third novel, Take My Hand, was awarded an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work, a Silver Gavel Award from the American Bar Association, a fiction award from the Black Caucus American Library Association, and long-listed for the Mark Twain American Voice in Literature Award. A three-time nominee for a United States Artists Fellowship, Perkins-Valdez is widely considered a preeminent chronicler of American historical life.
