Interview a woman who began working in the 1960s or 1970s, using the questions below. Ask other questions that you feel are appropriate as long as you record the question and the answer. Record your notes on a separate sheet of paper.

9. How did you balance your job with your family life, volunteer work, hobbies, and other interests? Did that balance change over time?

10. Is there anything you wish you had done differently in your career? Are there any job opportunities or careers you would have liked to explore?

11. What would you recommend to a young person entering your field?

12. Do you think women entering the workforce now are better off than women who started working when you did? Why?
