Thanks to the North Carolina Museum of History Associates, we are very excited to announce that funds are once again available to provide transportation assistance to schools for the 2022-2023 school year. This grant program allows children from qualifying schools across the state to visit the museum in Raleigh.
While there are a variety of factors taken into account for the awarding of the funds, priority will be given to Title I and Title VII American Indian schools, schools with a high percentage of low-income or at-risk students, public schools bringing a minimum of 30 students, and schools who have not previously received grant funding from the North Carolina Museum of History. We are also giving priority to schools awarded during the 2019-2020 school year whose field trip plans were canceled due to the pandemic.
Applications are now open until Friday, September 23, 2022.
All field trips must be scheduled through Capital Area Visitor Services (CAVS). Though booking a reservation through CAVS is not required at this stage, please note that 2022-2023 reservation requests for all groups visiting Raleigh are currently open. During peak visitation months, some dates and/or sites may fill up quickly, so please plan accordingly.
Scheduling information can be found on the CAVS website.
