Due to the overwhelming response, all seats for Mike Wiley’s performance of Dar He: The Story of Emmett Till are first come, first served. Registration through Eventbrite will not guarantee seating.

Due to the 30 to 50 percent no-show rate for free events, we use Eventbrite to gauge attendance but not to guarantee seating like our fee-based events. We appreciate your cooperation as we try to ensure a positive experience for all our participants.

Presenter: Mike Wiley, Actor and Playwright

Wiley plays a variety of characters in this dramatization of events surrounding the murder of 14-year-old Emmett Till, an act that became a lightning rod for moral outrage and inspired a generation of young people to commit to social change in the 1950s.

Funding for this program, part of a larger Teaching Hard History teacher workshop, is provided by the William R. Kenan Jr. Charitable Trust, and the Humanities for the Public Good Initiative in UNC’s College of Arts and Sciences.
