Made for the Smithsonian Channel, this video (2014; not rated; run time: 51 min.) travels back to 1814, when the young American capital was under attack, and Francis Scott Key was moved to compose a poem, soon published as the “Defence of Fort M’Henry,” that eventually became the lyrics to our national anthem.
