This banner display, temporarily located in the museum lobby, is designed to help visitors learn more about
- the role fashion and textiles play in our lives and how textiles are made;
- the environmental and social impact of materials, production, and textile waste; and
- the options available for more sustainable choices.
After viewing the display, visitors are prompted to ask themselves, “How can my clothes make a difference?” They are also invited to take a pledge for reducing their fashion footprint using what they’ve learned. Those interested who cannot visit the display in person—and anyone who wants additional tips—may follow @RedressRaleigh on social media.
This celebration of Earth Day and Earth month is provided by Redress Raleigh, a group helping to recreate responsible ecosystems for the fashion industry.
