From crafts to trails, music to storytelling, kick off your summer with a trip through North Carolina history and culture during this afternoon of hands-on fun.

Journey through the exhibit North Carolina A to Z and enjoy NC-themed activities from A to Z. Some of the activities will include:

Crafts—Make a free North Carolina-related craft to take home.

Demonstrations—Watch Karen Lynch Harley and Phillip  Harley (Haliwa-Saponi) demonstrate how they carve and paint walking sticks with designs drawn from nature.

Films—View short North Carolina-related films in the auditorium.

Gallery Hunt and Quiz—Search the museum, test your North Carolina knowledge, and earn prizes!

Legends—Listen to stories and legends told by local performers, the Two Bells Storytellers.

Music—Enjoy musical performances by Isabelle Parker and Alanabeth Duncan .

Quilt—Sew a few stitches on the museum’s quilt with the help of the Capital Quilters Guild.

State Historic Sites—Learn more about state historic sites, such as the Civil Rights Trail and Historic Yates Mill.

Vacations—Talk to state park folks about outdoor vacations, trails, walks, and wildlife.

Yummy food—Enjoy food demonstrations and samples from Burgess Bakery.
