History for Lunch: The First Republicans and the 1868 North Carolina Constitution (VIRTUAL)

The Museum of the Albemarle will host Earl L. Ijames, curator of African American History at the North Carolina Museum of History and Documentarian Marvin Tupper Jones on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 12 p.m. in the Gaither Auditorium. Mr. Ijames will provide a more in-depth look into the exhibit Freedom! A Promise Disrupted, North Carolina 1862–1901. Mr. Jones will provide a talk on Juneteenth and Northeastern North Carolina Soldiers. Following the lecture, guests can join Ijames for a curator talk in the exhibit. 

The Museum will offer History for Lunch in-person and through Zoom. Register in advance through the Museum’s Facebook page or website to receive a link to attend the lecture virtually.
