In celebration of The Power of Women in Country Music exhibition opening this weekend, the museum worked with North Carolina artist Robin Vuchnich to illuminate the building in a vibrant and dynamic public art installation for the community to enjoy! Robin’s stunning work will be set to music by the three opening concert artists for our Southern Songbirds series: Charly Lowry, Caitlin Cary, and H.C. McEntire. The projection will be viewable from 7 pm until 11 pm, Thursday, October 27, through Saturday, October 29.
Robin is a new media artist, UX designer, and educator. Her recent public art installations involve projection mapping, spatial augmented reality, generative art, and animation at monumental scale to highlight issues such as climate change, pandemic isolation, and racial justice via serendipitous encounters with art in public and natural spaces. Her work has been published by the Southern Indiana Review, Communication Arts, PRINT Magazine, and the American Institute of Graphic Arts. She has developed public art and interactive experiences for the North Carolina Museum of Art, Artsplosure, the City of Cary, the Visual Art Exchange of Raleigh, and the Harvard Museum of Natural History.
