North Carolinian Chuck Brown was the “Godfather of Go-Go.” Brown—a guitarist, bandleader, and singer—spent his early years in Gaston. In 1979 he released Bustin’ Loose on Source Records. That record was certified gold, cementing Brown’s status as a go-go legend. Celebrate Black Music Month with the NC Museum of History. Music historian Douglas A. Jackson and Source Records founder Dr. Logan H. Westbrooks will discuss the life and legacy of Brown.
