Thanks to contributions made by North Carolina Museum of History Associates Members at the annual Spring Frolic fund-raiser, funds are once again available to provide transportation assistance to schools. This grant program allows children from across the state—especially classes who may not otherwise have the means—to visit the museum in Raleigh.
While there are a variety of factors taken into account for the awarding of the funds, priority will be given to, Title 1 and Title VII American Indian schools, schools with a high percentage of low-income or at-risk students, public schools bringing a minimum of 30 students, and schools who have not previously received grant funding from the North Carolina Museum of History.
Travel grant applications for the 2019-2020 school year open Monday, July 8, 2019, and will be accepted through Friday, September 20, 2019. Funds will be awarded by the week of September 30, 2019. If you and your school are awarded grant funds, you will need to make arrangements for your own travel. A receipt/invoice verifying arrangements have been made must be presented to NCMOH by November 1, 2019.
Thank you for your interest in applying for a travel grant to visit the North Carolina Museum of History and Raleigh.
